Is it just us, or does it feel like time is fake this week? The King Tide’s been flexing hard on the coast, your sleep’s been weird, and somehow it's already Friday again. Anyway. While your equilibrium reboots, enter to win a 4-pack to Nitro Circus – where physics also goes out the window. It’s basically a big, dumb, beautiful action movie, but in real life.
JUST ANNOUNCED
If jazz were a person, it’d be that friend who shows up in sunglasses after dark and always knows someone at the party. Studio Sessions brings that cool energy to Quartyard on 11/20, with a live set that blends improv, soul, and groove.
The indie-folk sister act Joseph hits Music Box on 2/25 for their Closer to Happy Tour, and it’s about to get emotional in the best way. Expect that exact blend of sad-girl-core and catharsis you’ve been craving.
Indie darlings Bad Bad Hats are bringing their catchy, off-kilter pop to the Casbah on 3/5, with rising star Margaux in tow. It’s one of those shows where you get to brag later that you saw them in a tiny venue before they blew up.
Jack Johnson is throwing us a long-awaited bone and hitting North Island on 10/9 as a stop on his SURFMUSIC Tour. Bonus: He’s bringing Hermanos Gutiérrez along for the ride. We’re making banana pancakes in celebration.
Plus, other just-announced shows from Nine Inch Nails, Bodeans, Rebirth Brass Band, Colin Hay with KT Tunstall, and more!

TONIGHT
🫣 Love Isn't Blind | A Comedy/Dating Show Where the Men Can't Speak
Tonight @ Hilton Gaslamp (7PM)
In this twisted take on dating shows, the men can’t talk — and that’s honestly their best chance. Love Isn’t Blind is half comedy show, half social experiment, and 100% entertainment.
🎷 Kenny G
Tonight @ Humphrey's Concerts By The Bay (8PM)
Love him, ironically or sincerely, but you can’t deny Kenny G is the sax god of our generation. A live show means soaring melodies, a tight band, and at least one moment where the entire room collectively melts.
🚦 Stop Light Observations
Tonight @ Quartyard (6PM)
There’s something wild about a band that can pull off gospel harmonies and headbang riffs in the same set. That’s Stop Light Observations. They’re impossible to pin down, but you’ll be thinking about their show for days.
🖤 Emo Night Brooklyn, Where It Lies
Tonight @ House of Blues (9PM)
Dig out your skinny jeans and emotionally repressed high school memories – Emo Night Brooklyn is back. Add a live set from Where It Lies, and you've got a cathartic blast of eyeliner and nostalgia you won’t get anywhere else.
🏒 San Diego Gulls vs. Ontario Reign
Tonight @ Pechanga Arena (7PM)
Blood, ice, and beer. San Diego Gulls vs. Ontario Reign is what minor league hockey is all about: affordable chaos, beefy hits, and actual drama. The games are faster, the fights are real, and the crowd brings it.
