Daily Email - Friday - 3/13/2026

These emails don’t write themselves. Someone has to scroll through a truly unreasonable number of events every day and decide what San Diego should actually care about. That job belongs to me (hi, I’m Faye!!), born and raised right here in San Diego.

I haven’t formally introduced myself yet, but I’ve been the alias behind DoSD for the past 2+ years. So if you’ve been reading these for a while… we’re basically already friends.

And honestly, it’s kind of your lucky day. Not only do you now know who’s behind these emails, it also happens to be Friday the 13th. The day tattoo shops across San Diego turn into absolute madhouses. So if you’re feeling a little impulsive today, I rounded up the Top 5 places in San Diego doing Friday the 13th tattoo specials.

THE GUEST LIST IS CALLING

From the Super Bowl stage to Viejas Arena, Charlie Puth clearly still has America’s “Attention.” We’re sending one lucky Puther (is that the official term?) and their +1 to swoon IRL. Enter to win and go hit those high notes.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Don’t cha wish The Pussycat Dolls would announce a reunion tour every day? Start planning the outfit: North Island Amphitheatre on 6/10. Presale starts 3/20.

  • Kruder & Dorfmeister’s K&D Sessions basically rewired downtempo in the ’90s. Now they’re celebrating 30 years of K&D Kicks at The Sound. You know what to do.

  • Honestly, Belly Up was built for artists like this. Bahamas brings their mellow indie-folk to Solana Beach on 11.8. Tickets just dropped.

  • One thing about Los Ángeles Azules: nobody stays seated. The Cumbia Sin Fronteras Tour hits Harrah’s Resort on 9/6. Lock ‘em in.

  • Also newly on the calendar: Deer Tick, Empire of the Sun, Arlo Parks, Modest Mouse, The Stray Cats, and more. Yeah… your concert budget is about to get tested.

FREE THINGS TO DO IN SAN DIEGO (YES, REALLY)

Concert tickets? Expensive. Cocktails? Also expensive. Groceries? Don’t even get me started. But going out in San Diego for free is still very much a thing. Comedy nights, no cover gigs, museum days, random pop-ups – you just have to know where to look.

TONIGHT

LOCALS ONLY

  • For those getting CRSSD this weekend, they’re hosting a festival happy hour from 12–2PM with $5 drinks, food specials, and free pins or rubber ducks for the first 100 fans. Oh, and Chris Lake is Saturday’s surprise guest. LFG.

  • Heatwave incoming… Start stretching.

WIN STUFF

And that’s a wrap on the week! Stay tuned for more new DoSD goodies coming soon. Now I’m off to thrift my CRSSD fit. Meet me at The Palms. ❤️
