FRI FREAKING DAY!!!! Hallelujah.

This week felt nine business days long, so I am very happy to be on the other side.

And San Diego is HEAT-MAXXING right now. By our standards… obviously. Someone from Arizona is reading this and rolling their eyes, but let us have this.

For many San Diego schools, this is also the last weekend of summer break! I grew up in the Sweetwater school district, so I was always the kid going back to school in JULY while my friends in other districts were still living their best summer lives. I have not forgotten the injustice.

So if this is your family's last weekend of freedom, make it count. Beach. Pool. Ice cream for dinner. Whatever needs to happen.

AND tomorrow is 8/8/8. August 8, 2026. 8/8/(2+6). For my spiritual people, that's the Lion's Gate Portal, one of the luckiest days of the year. For everyone else, it's still three 8s, which feels like enough reason to ask the universe for something nice.
