HAPPY MONDAY FRIENDS!!! You know what’s worse than Monday? Going into the weekend absolutely STOKED on your plans, then waking up Saturday morning and your immune system is like, actually babe, we’re staying home. 😭

So no Sammy Virji for me. Instead, I had a very exclusive two-day residency on my couch featuring tea, blankets + basically the entire Harry Potter franchise. Not the girls’ night I ordered, but apparently the girls’ night I was assigned.

I’m kicking the last little remnants of this cold, so PLEASE tell me you all had enough fun this weekend for the both of us.

And since my version of “wellness” involved Hogwarts and horizontal silence, perhaps we should discuss a slightly more legitimate approach. 😂

RENEW: Wellness Festival returns to Fit Social 11/15 with yoga, fitness, cold plunges, saunas, massage, breathwork + a sunset soundtrack from Tchami, Nostalgix + LYRAH.

And I’ve got a pair of tickets to give away! Enter to win!

JUST ANNOUNCED

• Fifty years in and Iron Maiden is still finding reasons to make everything extremely theatrical + extremely loud. The final Run For Your Lives Tour lands at North Island on 4/22.

• If your preferred punk comes with ska roots, road-worn grit + enough anger to still mean something two decades in, The Flatliners have you covered. See the legends at Casbah on 1/23.

• Mickey, Moana, Anxiety from Inside Out 2 + approximately half the Disney universe are all sharing one ice rink. Disney On Ice: Jump In! takes over Pechanga 1/21–1/24.

• A classically trained jazz musician becoming one of EDM’s loudest festival acts is already funny enough. Add New Year’s Eve, and Timmy Trumpet suddenly makes perfect sense. Ring in 2027 at NOVA.

• + MORE just announced shows!

SAN DIEGO NEWS + JOB OPPORTUNITIES

A new week has entered the chat, so I refreshed the two tabs that actually matter: what’s going on around town + who’s hiring right now.

Useful? Yes. Weirdly comforting? Also yes.

THIS WEEK

LOCALS ONLY

• Run, walk + help rescue dogs while you’re at it. Labs & More’s Howl-O-Ween Mutt Run supports the care of roughly 900 dogs they save each year. Costumes presumably encouraged. Join the pack!

• Want your business behind something genuinely neighborhood-built? Goldenpalooza is raising funds for its 2027 stage + performers, with sponsorships starting at $350 and a $100 community supporter option. Reach out to the people in charge for more info!
