HOW TO HELP FROM SAN DIEGO

🚨 San Diego Humane Society

All Locations

SD Humane Society has been helping Pasadena Humane evacuate animals from LA. To free up more shelter space, they need to find foster homes for dozens of pets. If you can help foster an animal, visit sdhumane.org/foster.

🚨 Offer Housing Through Airbnb's Open Homes Program

Visit Airbnb to offer your property as temporary housing. Airbnb waives all fees, and hosts receive AirCover protection, including damage and liability insurance. Your generosity can make a significant difference in someone's life during this challenging time.

Airbnb is also offering temporary housing to people affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

🚨 Volunteer

Several organizations are accepting volunteers to help with the Los Angeles wildfires. The American Red Cross is recruiting and training volunteers for disaster response teams. Wildfire LA welcomes community members to join their safety expert cadre. The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank needs volunteers for various tasks. Local YMCAs and community centers are also coordinating volunteer efforts for donation collection and distribution.

🚨 Buy A Meal For Firefighters And First Responders

Prepared by Malibu Restaurant, Le Great Outdoor

You can buy meals to be sent directly to firefighters and First Responders. Malibu restaurant Le Great Outdoor is preparing fresh meals, which will be delivered to emergency sites twice a day. If you sponsor a meal, Le Great Outdoor will match it.

🚨  Educate and Prepare in San Diego

As San Diego supports Los Angeles during its wildfire crisis, it's crucial to remember our own vulnerability to similar disasters. San Diegans should also focus on local preparedness. Join a Fire Safe Council, participate in CERT programs, and utilize resources from the Fire Safe Council of San Diego County to create defensible spaces and attend fire preparedness workshops. By helping others and preparing ourselves, we strengthen our entire region against wildfire threats.

LOCALS ONLY
