Hey San Diego –

I tried to see the astronauts Friday night. Stood outside way too long for something I was never gonna spot, then gave up and went to Black Coffee at The Shell instead… Much better use of time.
Saturday, I finally made it back to a movie theater – Project Hail Mary is easily a 10/10. Go see it.

Felt like a good reminder that leaving your house actually pays off.
So let’s keep that energy going –

Tedeschi Trucks Band is bringing their Future Soul Tour to The Rady Shell on 8/16, and we’ve got a pair of tickets for one lucky winner. Big band, insane musicianship, sunset on the water – it’s kind of a perfect San Diego night. Enter to win.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Marc Maron has been yelling into microphones (and occasionally the void) longer than most podcasts have existed. The WTF host brings his Yammering Into the Void Tour to The Magnolia on 10/24, and it’s gonna get real.

  • I’ve seen Jack White live once, and I still think about it. The man treats a guitar like it owes him money. Catch him at The Sound on 9/30.

  • Atsuko Okatsuka sold out all her SD shows… and then added one more show. Her offbeat, quietly chaotic comedy is alive at Balboa Theatre on 5/3 – this is your last shot.

  • There’s fast, and then there’s Twista. The Guinness World Record-holder for fastest rap is taking over The Holding Company on 4/24.

  • STOP: Don’t forget to check out these just-announced shows from this month!
