May the 4th be with you…sorry, I had to get it out of the way early so we can all move on.

It’s one of those gray San Diego mornings where everything feels a little heavier than it should, especially for a Monday. But I’m not accepting that as the tone for the week. We can do better than that.

So here’s me doing something about it: giving away tickets to Tedeschi Trucks Band at The Rady Shell on 8/16. It’s their Future Soul 2026 Tour, and it’s exactly the kind of night that makes you forget whatever weird mood today started in. Enter to win and give yourself a solid night out.

JUST ANNOUNCED

• There’s a scrappy, DIY feel to anything The Egg Factory touches, and this lineup: Headworm, Bunny, Seraphim, DJ Fazes, keeps the energy in that same orbit – no polish, just momentum. 5/30 at Casbah.

• Tijuana No helped define the Latin punk/ska sound in the ‘90s, mixing horns with political lyrics that still hit. Marujah, Giga Rat, Los Hijos Del Santo, and El Funeral will be rounding out the night. 9/4 at Music Box.

• Interpol came out of the NYC post-punk revival and never really drifted from that sound – tight guitars, minimal vocals, all mood. Over 20 years in, it still hits live. 8/15 at The Rady Shell.

• It’s easy to write off sax in electronic music until SoDown does it live, and it clicks. Add MOTIFV and JiLLi and you’ve got a pretty easy yes. 6/28 at Quartyard.
