HellOOOOOOOOOO and Happy June, my friends!

I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend. It was a rare full blue moon weekend for those who celebrate (me), so I hope you danced under the moonlight, set an intention, charged a crystal, or, if all of that sounds deeply annoying to you, at least got outside and soaked up some sunshine.

I spent part of my weekend at Fiesta del Sol watching my boyfriend and his band play, and wow... what a beautiful weekend for it. If you've never been, put it on your calendar for next year. It's free, right on the beach, packed with local music, local businesses, and the best vibes.

Now that we're officially kicking off summer, let's start June with a little adventure:

• This lineup feels like hardcore generations getting together for a family reunion. Quicksand, Bane, and Soul Blind hit Belly Up on 8/12, and somebody's older brother is VERY excited right now.

• DJ Sneak was helping shape house music before social media was even a thing. Catch the Chicago legend at SHINE on 8/2 at Quartyard.

• Whoever has been booking Soda Bar lately deserves a raise. The venue's been quietly dropping one great show after another, including The Asteroid No. 4, The Meeting Places, and Sparkler on 8/20.

• By popular request, I haven’t wiped the May just announced shows yet!!! Check them out – this is officially the last day to do it before they vanish for June.
