Daily Email - Thursday - 10/9/2025

We’re halfway through spooky season and the scariest thing about this week is how much you’ve ignored your own burnout. Treat yo’self: Press Pause is coming 11/16, and we’ve got your chance to win tickets. Think yoga, music, art, mocktails, and on-site bodywork.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Ska-punk legends The English Beat are back in SoCal for two nights at the Belly Up. Expect a sweaty, timeless bangers like “Mirror in the Bathroom,” and the kind of dance pit your chiropractor warned you about.

  • Bloom’s dancefloor is getting a Moon Boots makeover this December. Known for genre-blurring tracks that sit somewhere between house and a rom-com dream sequence. Catch it before LA tries to steal him.

  • Nashville indie duo Twen will play Casbah on 4/16, fresh off their new LP One Stop Shop. Their sound lands somewhere between dream pop and post-punk – think swirling guitars, sharp vocals, and full-volume catharsis in a tight little room.

  • Fortune Feimster is back on the road with her Takin’ Care of Biscuits Tour, and San Diego gets her live at Civic Theatre this March. She’s Southern, queer, loud, warm, and absolutely unfiltered — and that combo kills onstage.

  • Plus, other just-announced shows from The Roots, Dancing With The Stars, Los Lobos, Margo Price, The Creepy Creeps, and more!

THIS WEEKEND

🎃 Halloween Party at the North Park Vegan Market

Saturday @ North Park Mini Park (12PM)

The Halloween Party at North Park Vegan Market is the kind of wholesome-chaotic energy we live for: DJ sets, free entry, costume contests with $1K+ in prizes, and a vibe check that welcomes everyone from toddlers to werewolves. Bonus: it’s dog-friendly.

🚨 Brooks Nielsen (of The Growlers)

Saturday @ SOMA (7PM)

Don’t expect a Growlers set – Brooks Nielsen is deep in his solo bag. His newer stuff leans raw, introspective, and slightly unhinged (in a good way). This is a set for people who love sad cowboy anthems and psychedelic breakdowns.

🖤 Niteharts Festival

Saturday - Sunday @ Snapdragon Stadium (3PM)

You read that right: Skrillex is going b2b with SOxo at Niteharts Festival – and that’s just one of the wild pairings. ZEDD b2b Knock2, sets from ericdoa, Kenny Beats, Yellow Claw... Yeah. That’s happening.

🇮🇪 A Taste of Ireland - The Irish Music & Dance Sensation

Sunday @ Balboa Theatre (3:30PM)

The Irish are coming — and they brought tap battles. A Taste of Ireland is back with an all-star cast of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance vets.

🎏 Multicultural Festival

Sunday @ Chollas Lake Community Park (1PM)

The Multicultural Festival is what San Diego does best — food, music, and community all wrapped up in one big daylong vibe. Hosted by the Jacobs Center, this is your excuse to eat everything and meet everyone.

LOCALS ONLY

  • Shwayze is officially headlining this weekend’s OB Oktoberfest’s Jägermeister Main Stage on Saturday, and your inner 2009 beach bum is thriving.

  • You don’t need a passport for these tacos anymore. Tacos El Franc just opened in Gaslamp with the same iconic flavors you’d wait 2 hours for in TJ. Now it’s just a walk and a mouthful away.
