• Petco Park is stacking the calendar: Ms. Lauryn Hill (4/30), Nas with The Roots and De La Soul (8/27), and neon electro weirdos Empire of the Sun (10/7). Three totally different vibes, all massive.

• Leather jackets, upright bass, and one of the cleanest guitar tones in rock. The Stray Cats bring Rumble in Del Mar to The Sound 7/26, with tickets going on sale tomorrow.

• You know Rostam even if you don’t realize it. He helped shape Vampire Weekend’s early albums and produced a bunch of modern indie favorites. Now he’s bringing his American Stories Tour to Music Box on 5/27.

• If you love The Friendly, here’s good news: the owners are launching a new bodega-inspired shop next door in North Park. Expect breakfast sandwiches, deli classics, and a casual hangout spot rooted in the spirit of founder Brandon Zanavich.

• The San Diego City Council just approved a 44-year lease extension for the San Diego Zoo. The deal includes at least $3 million a year for the city from parking fees, plus free admission opportunities for local nonprofits and school groups.
