• Monophonics at Belly Up on 7/23 is for people who care about how music feels. They track everything analog, which is why it hits warmer than most stuff out right now.

• Not every day you get G-Eazy, Logic, and Juicy J on the same bill (10/16 at North Island). It’s like a crash course on different corners of hip-hop – and somehow Juicy J is still the most influential one there.

• Liz Phair and Sleater-Kinney together feels like a lineup that would’ve blown your mind in the ‘90s (I wouldn't know though… I wasn’t there). But we can all have our minds blown together when they play The Magnolia on 9/6!

• Kamaiyah’s pulling up to The Observatory on 7/10, and she’s been doing her own thing since day one. Oakland energy, zero industry fluff, and it somehow always feels like summer when her songs come on.

• San Diego Crawfish Boil is back 5/16 at Waterfront Park. 50 lbs of crawfish per table, live music all day, unlimited beer – just don’t wait, 5/11 is the last day to get tickets.

• San Diego’s cruise scene is getting a Disney upgrade. They’re expanding routes and sailings here over the next few years, which is great news if you like vacations that start 10 minutes from home.
