I’m borrowing the top of today’s email for a tiny community PSA. You guys know I’m basically just here trying to connect San Diego through cool shit to do, but I’d also love to use this little megaphone for some good.

So if you know about a local fundraiser, lost pet, family that needs help, shelter animal who deserves the spotlight, volunteer opportunity, petition, or anything else San Diego should know about, HIT. ME. UP. Seriously. Just reply to any newsletter and tell me about it.

I can’t promise everything will make it in, but I can promise I’ll read through it and do my best to get some more local voices in front of all these eyeballs. The megaphone is open!!!

• If San Diego still feels too civilized, I found your escape route. Joshua Tree Music Festival returns to the desert 10/8–11 for four nights of music, camping, art + general Mojave weirdness.*

• A very un-fun but important heads-up: Coronado through North Beach is currently closed for water contact due to sewage contamination. Several other shorelines remain closed or under advisory, so check conditions before heading in.

• Tomorrow marks 25 years since 9/11. Little Italy will honor those lost with the 4th Annual Punches in the Piazza, a night of boxing at Piazza della Famiglia that also raises money for charitable initiatives.

• Euro summer apparently isn’t over until San Diego says so. APPRVD Events + Esmerize’s Golden Euro Summer sets sail Saturday with two DJ stages, sunset views + a fundraiser supporting local artists.
