Daily Email - Thursday - 9/17/2026

Good morning!!! I regret to inform everyone that I wore a jacket today.

Even worse? I drank hot coffee with Trader Joe’s pumpkin creamer and enjoyed the seasonal appropriateness of it.

This is devastating news for someone (me) who has spent the last month insisting summer isn’t over.

But after that heat wave nearly slow-roasted all of us, I’ve entered a new phase of fall denial: I will acknowledge the temperature change while rejecting everything it represents.

Luckily, I found a loophole…

Mission Bayfest takes over Mariner’s Point Park 10/16–18, which is technically fall but spiritually still summer: three days by the water with Rebelution, Kolohe Kai, The Offspring, Steel Pulse, The Movement, Common Kings, SOJA, The Interrupters, Goldfinger + a whole lot more.

And I’m giving away A PAIR OF TICKETS!!!

Island music. Mission Bay. October. Maybe a jacket after sunset. See??? We can have it all.

CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH IN SAN DIEGO

You can’t really tell San Diego’s story without Hispanic history and culture woven throughout it.

❤️ For Hispanic Heritage Month, I rounded up some of that history alongside local businesses, cultural spaces + events where you can learn, support, and celebrate.

LOCAL’S LIST: TIGERS IN CAIRO HAS PIZZA OPINIONS

I know, I know… The Local’s List has been on a little hiatus. But I’m happy to report that we are BACK, and this one comes with pizza opinions.

This week’s list comes from Tigers In Cairo, one of the bands that helped close out our final Summer Launchpad show. They’re loud, melodic, and deeply prepared to talk about pizza.

I asked the band for their go-to pizza picks around town, and they delivered a little bit of everything: serious local love, strong NY-style loyalty, a couch-eating recommendation, and one answer that is so chaotic I had no choice but to respect it.

P.S. You can catch Tigers In Cairo live this Sunday at The Adams Ave Street Fair!
