HAPPY TUESDAY, FRIENDS!!! I’m gonna be very real with you today: I am not operating at 100%. 😂

Between Election Day stress, the time change, personal life stuff + approximately 700 little tabs open in my brain, I think I’ve officially hit my limit for the week (it’s only Tuesday😭). And instead of showing up here pretending I’m bursting with whimsy, I figured I’d just tell you.

Some days are fun little newsletter days. Some days you’re simply doing your best and drinking water.

Today is the second kind.

BUT I do have one final assignment for everyone: PLEASE GO VOTE. Polls close at 8 PM tonight, so if you haven’t done it yet, this is me lovingly pointing you toward the polls one last time.

And then, because we deserve something significantly less serious to think about:

Will Ferrell’s Holiday Jam is taking over Music Box 12/5, hosted by Will himself with Ezra Ray Hart, aka Mark McGrath, Kevin Griffin + Emerson Hart, plus special guest Vic Fuentes of Pierce The Veil.

There’s live music, holiday chaos, costumes + a good cause involved. Oh, and the show is sold out. Good thing I have a pair of tickets for one of you.

JUST ANNOUNCED

• If No Shame was part of your soundtrack in the 2000s, Pepper is giving you a very direct reason to revisit it. Be there for their 20-year celebration at The Sound on 1/17.

• If Penelope Road has been quietly sneaking into your playlists lately (I know they have for me), now there’s a date attached to it: Belly Up on 3/13, with The Takes.

• One night, three names that immediately put your brain in a different decade. Missing Persons, Gene Loves Jezebel + Bow Wow Wow take over House of Blues on 1/22.

• Just some more new website info for ya: Stream any artist's top songs right on DoSD, and you'll know in thirty seconds whether they're worth getting off the couch for. Follow the keepers, and we'll holler the very second they're back in San Diego.

• OKAY! Today is the official last day to check out all the just-announced October shows!!

STAFF MUSIC PICKS: MUSIC TO LISTEN TO WHEN YOU ARE SICK

The DoCali team is currently being held together by cough drops, hydration + questionable morale, so the playlist theme really chose itself this week.

Everyone picked a song for when you’re sick.

Interpret “sick” however your current situation requires.
