Hey team,
This weekend, I’m leaving society (temporarily) and heading up to Big Sur to touch grass, romanticize my life, and remember what it’s like to not have 47 tabs open in my brain. If you’ve got favorite spots, send them my way before I disappear.
Meanwhile, if your ideal version of fresh air includes live music and a drink in your hand, we’ve got something better lined up. Alex G is playing The Rady Shell on 5/19 —waterfront, open sky, the whole cinematic moment.
We’re hooking one of you up with a pair of tickets. Enter to win and make a night of it.*
JUST ANNOUNCED
Charleston duo Little Stranger have been quietly building a cult following with breezy tracks that bounce between hip-hop, indie, and beachy chaos. They’re at The Sound on 8/20. Tickets go on sale Thursday.
Guitar, loops, and a brain that moves faster than most – Keller Williams has been refining this setup for years. See him live at The Holding Company on 11/6.
The club is going to be bumpin’ in June when Malaa gets his hands on the decks. Part of the Confession label orbit, he leans into heavy house that’s made for packed rooms. Which translates to: be there!
Austin psych rock mainstays The Black Angels have been doing the hypnotic, droning thing since the mid-2000s. They’re at The Observatory on 11/1. Tickets on sale Friday.
Blink, and you miss it. Don’t let these just-announced shows sell out before you even have a chance!
FREE STREET FAIRS AND COMMUNITY GATHERINGS
Street fairs are where productivity goes to die – and honestly, good.
You go for a quick lap and suddenly it’s two hours later, you’ve eaten something fried, listened to live music, and fully forgotten what your original plan was.
We found the best free street fairs and community gatherings coming up. Go wander.
