I woke up today in that specific panic where your alarm is going off and you realize… it’s BEEN going off. For an hour. Incredible stuff.
We’ve recovered though. We’re back. And I’m already planning my comeback tour for tomorrow.
In the meantime, here is your push present (spiritually, emotionally – not medically):
Win a pair of tickets + overnight stay to see Direct from Sweden: The Music of ABBA at Sycuan Casino Resort.
Go ahead, treat yourself like you just did something heroic.
JUST ANNOUNCED
Selena changed pop forever – and Amor Prohibido is basically a love letter to that legacy. The band goes all in on the sound, the style, the everything. Get a chance to feel that energy live on 6/26 at House of Blues.
This is your cue to wear something silky and pretend you’re in a very stylish movie. Satin Jackets brings that smooth, retro-futuristic disco energy to Music Box this September.
She started in punk, won Grammys, and now just casually writes songs that ruin you. Julieta Venegas plays Cal Coast on 10/3. Tickets just dropped!
LOOK ALIVE: all the other just announced shows from this month are selling fast!
LOCAL ARTISTS YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO: VOLUME 1
About a year ago, I put together a local artists guide, and I’m bringing it back because it deserves a second spin.
I’m working on vol. 2 right now, so send me who you’re listening to. Reply to this email and put me on some of your favorite locals you think I should feature – let’s hype the city properly.

IN THE FUTURE
5.4 - 2ND ANNUAL STAR WARS TRIVIA NIGHT at THE SMOKING GUN 5.23 - R&B BLOCK PARTY: ALL BLACK ATTIRE 7 YEAR ANNIVERSARY at QUARTYARD 5.24 - VISTA STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL at DOWNTOWN VISTA (free) 6.5 - ALWAYS, ADELE at THE MAGNOLIA 6.13 - LEUCADIA SUMMER FUN ON THE 101 at LEUCADIA ROADSIDE PARK |
LOCALS ONLY
If your algorithm has been screaming Dairy Boy at you, here’s your chance IRL. They’re at Barista Botinast today and tomorrow until 6pm.
Not super fun news, but it matters – a lot of San Diegans showed up this week to push back on proposed budget cuts to arts, libraries, and youth programs. If you are like me and hate this…now is your chance to call the mayor's office to voice your opinion. Every voice matters!

Crazy concept. And yes… to out myself, I am in fact Gen Z – but an older Gen Z!!! There is a difference. 😂
Now I need to go change my alarm sound to something more… aggressive.
