Daily Email - Tuesday - 5/19/2026

Hey friends,

I know this newsletter is usually where we come together to laugh a little, make plans, and celebrate the weird little things that make San Diego feel like home. But today, it feels important to pause for something much heavier.

Yesterday’s shooting at the Islamic Center devastated our city. So many people across San Diego are hurting right now, especially our Muslim neighbors, friends, families, and local communities, who should never have to live in fear while gathering in a place meant for peace and worship.

San Diego’s strength has always come from its people – the different cultures, backgrounds, beliefs, and stories that all exist here together. That diversity is what makes this city beautiful. Violence, hate, and intolerance have no place here.

There will be a vigil tonight at 6:30pm at the Islamic Center for the victims and their families. If you’re able, donations can also be made to the Official ICSD Victim & Family Support Fund to directly support those impacted.

Please continue showing kindness to one another. Check on your people. Lead with empathy. And if you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of violence, self-harm, or emotional crisis, please seek help. Choosing compassion can save lives.

Holding our city so close today 💛.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • MEDUZA went from anonymously producing tracks in Italy to casually making some of the biggest dance songs of the last decade. FIT Social on 7/5 is for the people who deserve a summer dance party on the beach.

  • Monsieur Periné started in Bogotá and built a whole sound out of swing, jazz, cumbia, bolero, and whatever makes a room instantly loosen up. Catch the Latin Grammy-winning group at House of Blues on 8/6.

  • There was a point where Seven Lions remixes were spreading across SoundCloud like sacred texts, and now the man is headlining a massive tour with Said The Sky, Trivecta b2b Kill The Noise, & more! 8/22 at Waterfront Park on 8/22 – be there!

  • Plus other just announced shows from Ohana Festival, Boombox, Afroman, Starship, Haley Williams, Mom Jeans, Shoreline Mafia, and more!
