After today, I promise you won’t have to hear the word Launchpad for a VERY long time. 😂
THE LAST SHOW IS TONIGHT!!! It’s actually crazy how fast this whole thing went by, but here we are. Four shows later, and officially at the finish line. Come get loud with us one last time, and then I will finally release you from my Launchpad propaganda.
I should also mention I went to bed at an absolutely irresponsible hour last night after seeing Noah Kahan at Petco Park, but SOOOO worth it. SO. WORTH. IT. Today we’re operating on a couple hours of sleep, caffeine, and the pure motivation of knowing I simply have no other choice. Lmao.
And because apparently I refuse to spend a single night at home this week, I already have plans for tomorrow.
Remember Gather Community, my bestie Daniella’s community-forward events company? My Launchpad gal pal, girl boss, partner in chaos? Well, she’s got a VERY cute one happening tomorrow, I’ll be there, and naturally, I got my hands on some last-minute tickets to give away.
Gather: Art for Dinner takes over Roam Homeware for an intimate night of local art, music, food, wine, and good people. Your ticket gets you two glasses of wine, bites from Starlite’s Chef Ted Smith, a DJ set from Dauche, a live performance by Jolene Cruz, and work from San Diego artists displayed throughout the space.
Sounds like the slowed-down pace I NEED.
JUST ANNOUNCED
Nap accordingly. Italian techno powerhouse Deborah De Luca is taking over NOVA on 9/12, which feels like the kind of Saturday night that could very easily become Sunday morning.
The crate diggers already know. French jazz-funk legends Cortex have spent decades becoming a producer’s sampling goldmine, and now you can hear the real thing at The Magnolia on 10/22.
Dust off the side bangs, we have business to attend to. Alesana is bringing the post-hardcore melodrama to House of Blues on 9/29. Your 2000s scene-kid heart remembers what to do.
El Paso post-hardcore royalty in a room as small as Soda Bar? Yeah, clock that. Sparta rolls through on 11/13 with Public Opinion. Get close and get loud.

MUSIC TO LISTEN TO, PLAYLISTS TO ADD
Time for my favorite form of workplace research: seeing what everyone’s listening to. 😂 The latest staff picks are in, so go find a song to steal for your own playlists.

LOCALS ONLY
Like live music AND animals? Put those interests to work. Robin’s Nest Rescue needs volunteers for Rockin’ Robin Music Fest on 10/11 to help with setup, activities, welcoming guests, and cleanup. Email [email protected] to learn more.
Great things really do start in small rooms. La Lom and Thee Sacred Souls once played Quartyard, and now they’re selling out Petco Park. Quartyard’s celebrating by giving away TWO tickets to their 8/28 show! Check out their post to enter.
Thrifting AND a free plant? Oh, they know their audience. Honest Thrift is celebrating Thrift Week with a free plant when you spend $25+. Go get yourself some previously loved stuff and a new roommate.
A local UC San Diego student could use some community support. Katie is studying Marine Biology and currently needs urgent treatment for a tumor while uninsured. If you have anything extra to give, her friends have started a GoFundMe to help cover her care. Sharing helps, too.
