Can someone explain why I walked into a store yesterday and got jump-scared by Halloween decorations?

IT IS AUGUST... we're only four days in.

At this rate, just go ahead and put the Christmas trees up, too. Hell, throw out the 2027 planners while you're at it. Let's just get this thing moving since we are in such a rush.

I refuse to let a seasonal aisle gaslight me into thinking summer is over. You're gonna have to pry summer out of my cold, sunscreen-covered hands.

So no. I will not be purchasing a decorative skeleton today. I will, however, continue romanticizing summer until San Diego physically tells me it's over.
