Daily Email - Wednesday - 10/21/2026

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!! One of my favorite things about my neighborhood is that everyone has silently agreed to participate in what my friends and I call the trash fairy distribution system.

Basically, if you don’t want something anymore, you leave it in the alley or out front and give it a chance at a second life before it disappears for good. Because of this beautiful little ecosystem, my house has acquired a lamp, a table, a corkboard, and who knows what else at this point.

And it’s not just furniture. Neighbors leave out fruit from their trees, and one house even has little cards where you can write a wish and hang it from their tree. Like??? Sorry, that’s adorable.

I promise I contribute too, but I just wanted to share a little Wednesday hopecore because sometimes humans are actually very cute when left to their own devices.

And in the spirit of the trash fairy distribution system, I have something looking for a new home today too: a pair of tickets to Temper Festival.

The new electronic fest takes over Petco Park 12/30 with Zeds Dead, Levity, Whethan + more, aka one final giant dance floor before 2026 clocks out. Enter to win!

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • One night of Calvin Harris was not enough for San Diego, so two more have entered the chat. He’s now at Viejas 5/21–5/23. Three chances. What’s your excuse now?

  • The Sheepdogs went from grinding it out in Saskatoon to becoming the first unsigned band on a Rolling Stone cover. Not bad for a bunch of guys who just wanted to play rock ’n’ roll. See them at Casbah on 2/10.

  • Your old band tee just felt a disturbance in the force. Four Year Strong is celebrating 25 years together + 20 years of Rise or Die Trying at House of Blues 4/7.

  • Some voices simply refuse to retire. Tom Jones has spent six decades making that point very loudly, and next Tuesday he brings the whole ridiculous catalog to The Rady Shell. Enter to win tickets!*

  • A flower dress that literally blooms, wild acrobatics + an entire dreamlike world inspired by Mexico. LUZIA is exactly the kind of beautiful nonsense Cirque du Soleil does best, coming soon to Del Mar. Get in on the action.*

  • + MORE OCTOBER JUST ANNOUNCED SHOWS HERE!

SO MUCH TO WIN… LIKE SO MUCH

The prize cupboard is looking dangerously full right now. New festivals, concerts + other fun shit stuff have been added. Consider this your weekly opportunity to become someone who says “oh, I won tickets.”
